Wonder by R.J. Palacio is about a boy called Auggie and Auggie was born with a mutant gene so he looks deformed. His parents homeschooled him until he is in fifth grade. They then enter him into a real school. Auggie tries to make friends at his new school. He makes two best friends who are called Summer and Jack Will. He meets a kid call Julian and Julian is really mean to him. Julian’s mom is even worse because she photo shopped Auggie out of the class picture. Auggie will go through many good and bad moments but they all end up right at the end. I would rate this book 7 stars (the scale is 1-5 stars) because Auggie inspires us that we could do anything. Wonder also shows why we should “be a little kinder than is necessary.” (The Little White Bird by J. M. Barrie.)
